Nate Derby: President, Senior Statistician

Nate has an MS in Statistics from the University of Washington, specializing in statistical forecasting. He has worked as a statistician for Washington Mutual (now Chase), T-Mobile, Princeton Brand Econometrics, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the German Institute for Economic Research. He also taught probability at the University of Washington the summers of 2008 & 2009.

James Xu: Statistician

James has an MPH (Masters in Public Health) from St. Louis University, specializing in biostatistics and epidemiology. He’s worked as a biostatistician for Kaiser Permanente, the Virginia Health Quality Center (VHQC), and the St. Louis Veteran Affairs Medical Center. He also worked for 8 years as an estimating and pricing analyst at Boeing.

Perry Watts: Senior Statistical Programmer

Perry has an MS in Information Systems from Drexel University. She is a specialist in statistical graphics and Excel applications and has worked for the Fox Chase Cancer Center, US Bioscience, and IMS Health. From 2006 to 2008, Perry worked at Sanofi-Aventis, where she developed a pharmaceutical graphics package of reusable SAS macros for the entire company. She’s the author of the book Multi-Plot Displays: Simplified with Macros .

Laura Vo: Statistical Analyst

Laura has a BS in Statistics from the University of Washington, specializing in survey sampling. She has worked as a statistical analyst at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and has nine years of experience in the health care and hotel industries.

D.J. Schreffler: Statistical Analyst

D.J. has BAs in both Economics and Mathematics from the University of Washington. He is currently pursuing an MS in Mathematics from Texas State University, as well as a Certificate in Applied Statistics through Texas A & M.

David Cheng: Statistical Analyst

David has a BS in Statistics from the University of California at Davis, specializing in statistical computing. He’s worked on various constituent polling projects for California State Senate President pro tempore Darrell Steinberg.

Lisa Farino: Technical Writer

Lisa is a technical writer with a passion for statistics who has been working as a writer and editor since 1998. In addition to holding an M.A. in Professional Writing, she has a strong background in mathematics and programming. Since 2005, she has been teaching technical, proposal, and report writing to Senior Design students in Seattle University’s Engineering Department.

Charles Brophy: Senior Technical Architect

Charles has a BS in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh, specializing in database design and data security issues.  He has built and maintained secure database infrastructures for Microsoft, Razorfish, and Parametric Portfolio.
